Peace

This page is under construction; your contributions are welcome.
This page should be more than just links to peace related web sites,
if you have material or ideas for material for this site,
let Albert know.

Hottest? PeaceNet's directory of organizations.
From there you can also reach EcoNet, ConflictNet, LaborNet and WomensNet!
All presented by the Institute for Global Communications.

The U.S. sanctions against Burma do not affect existing investments. Unocal, still in Burma, has a page supporting their work in Burma. Here is a compilation of why sanctions and divestment should occur. What is Unocal? In their own words, "Unocal is the world's largest independent energy resource company". For a real laugh (or is it a cry?) visit Unocal's Statement of Principles.  Here is a U.N. report on the human rights situation in Burma (called Myanmar by the military dictators).

Read the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
And visit the United Nations.

Interested in investing with your conscience intact? There was a piece in the 3/99 issue of Consumer Reports worth a look. They list 10 socially conscious funds and their 800 numbers:
Amana Income 728-8762
Aquinas Equity Growth 434-6369
Aquinas Equity Income 434-6369
Ariel Appreciation 292-7435
Ariel Growth 292-7435

Domini Social Equity 762-6814
Dreyfus Third Century 373-9387
Green Century Equity 934-7336

I've added links to web sites, when I could find them.

Take a look at

the Green Money site, too. Please let me know of any others,
especially any on-line places.

Peace sign icons, zipped, various colors. (A small new addition.)
